Nutrients:.

Nutrient is a substance that provides nourishment essential for healthy life and growth.

There are many essential nutrients. They can be divided into two categories.

Macronutrients and Micronutrients.

Macro Nutrients are eaten in large amounts and include the primary building blocks of body diet, protein, carbohydrates and fat which provide energy to the body.

Vitamins and Minerals are Micro nutrients and small doses go a large way. There are Six Main groups of Micronutrients and Macronutrients.

1. Proteins:.

Protein provides the building blocks of the body and not just for muscles every cell from bone to skin to hair contains proteins. Sixteen percent average body weight is consists of Protein. Protein is used primarily for growth, health and body maintenance.

2. Carbohydrates:.

Carbohydrates are necessary for a healthy body. Its fuel to the body, especially to control nervous system and brain, and protect against diseases.

3.Fats:.

Healthy fats are very important part of healthy diet.20 to 30 present of the body daily calories come from fat.

4.Vitamins:.

Vitamins are vital for warding off diseases and staying healthy. The body needs Vitamins to support its functions. There are 13 essential vitamins that the body needs to function properly includes Vitamin A,B,C and D.

5.Minerals:.

Minerals support the body. They are essential for many body functions including building strong bones and teeth regulating metabolism. Some of the most common minerals are calcium, Iron and Zinc.

6.Water:.

Water is absolutely crucial for every system in the body. Water is about  62 percent of total body weight. It improves brain function. It acts a shock absorber and a Lubricant in the body. It also flush out blood toxin.
